Information for Pilgrims – Homestay
🏠 Homestay: A Special Experience
The Days in the Diocese of Jeonju is being prepared with the goal of 100% homestay participation!
Why Homestay?
For many pilgrims who have participated in World Youth Day (WYD), the most memorable experience has been homestay.
In a foreign country, among unfamiliar people:
- being genuinely welcomed and living together
- goes beyond a simple trip or program
- and becomes a lasting memory in life
Homestay in the Diocese of Jeonju
During the Days in the Diocese of Jeonju, pilgrims will stay with local families and:
- share meals together
- talk about their day
- live out their faith together
Through this, we invite pilgrims to experience the “Church within the family.”
Homestay Is More Than Accommodation
It is not just a place to stay, but a time to live together.
Unlike a hotel, staying in a home creates a true encounter between people.
More Important Than Language
It’s okay if you don’t speak Korean.
- translation apps
- simple expressions
- gestures and smiles
And above all, a sincere openness to one another is what matters most.
“The Days in the Diocese of Jeonju places homestay at the heart of its mission—so that pilgrims are not just hosted, but truly welcomed, connected, and left with lasting memories.”
